The SIPT team met to work on writing the school improvement plan. It needs to be rewritten every three years and this is the year. We discussed how our main goal in our plan should do with literacy and math.

One of the goals for math is to have an all day data day where strategies will be discussed. This is one of the things that the school has already implemented in order to look at our areas of weakness. We take a look at the data that we have from all of our assessments and decide what to do from there.

For literacy we have decided that students will give students the opportunity to give book reviews on books that they have read and enjoyed. I have created the template for this with Mary our librarian.

Another literacy goal that we have is to pair at risk students with a mentor that can talk to them about their reading and read books with them. We also discussed pairing older students with younger students to be reading buddies with.

We almost completed the new school improvement plan.
