Activ Board training

On our early release day I was put in charge of training the K-2 assistants and enhancement teachers how to use the ActivBoard. Many of them knew very little of the basics like even turning it on. I began by showing them how to make sure that it can be turned on by showing them where all the cords plug in, to make sure they turn the projector on and that the board light is on. I had each one of them practice how to calibrate the board. Then they got to come up and draw something on the board. I pulled up several flipcharts that have been created and let them practice dragging objects, turning the page, drawing, erasing, etc.

Then I showed them how to use the Activ Votes and the Activ Expressions. Some of the teachers then came over to see me show them how to use those because the Expressions are new for us to use and many of them had not had a chance to use them before.

Many of them said that they really felt like the staff development was very helpful for them because they were unsure how to use the boards.
