Mary had a book rep. from Delaney come to the school to show us some books that are needed in the library. Mary wanted books on soccer for some fourth grade boys that are struggling readers and have no interest in reading. We looked at a lot of different types of graphic novels because a lot of students are interested in them more than anything else. We looked at graphic novels for nonfiction books, super heroes, war books, tall tales, and cartoons. We looked at a lot of nonfiction books because students at Mt. Ulla really enjoy nonfiction.
I thought it was interesting how the process worked. Mary said that she would show me some weeding and then she would make a final decision the books that she was going to order.
